New HTRI recommended methods for nucleate boiling of pure component require separate correlations for water and for hydrocarbons. This Research Brief shows how these correlations are combined and utilized with HTRI mixture correction methods to predict pool boiling heat transfer for alcohol-water mixtures. Data were taken from the work of Stephan and cover a wide range of systems including azeotropic mixtures.
