RB3-2 Physical Property Based Correlation for Nucleate Pool Boiling

In a recent comprehensive study by Stephan and Abdelsalam, new correlations are presented for nucleate pool boiling heat transfer coefficients for hydrocarbons, water, refrigerants, and cryogenics fluids. These correlation, which are based on large sets of data from literature, were further evaluated by HTRI and compared with present methods. It is proposed that the new correlations for hydrocarbons and for refrigerants be offered as alternative approaches in HTRI design methods.
