Abstract:
This article documents research progress on HTRI's multiyear experimental and analytical study of condensation inside horizontal internal micro-finned tubes. Preliminary findings from newly collected data indicate that the helical micro-finned tube increases condensation heat transfer coefficient for pure components between 10 to 80 percent and for mixtures between 50 to 250 percent. In addition, the helical micro-finned tube increases condensation pressure drop for both types up to 120 percent.
