PHE-3 Data Analysis of UFX26 Plate Heat Exchangers

This report analyzes the heat transfer and pressure drop data gathered on HTRI’s Single-Phase Unit (SPU) from 1993 to 1997 using an SWEP/Reheat UFX-26 plate heat exchanger. HTRI used these data to develop channel pressure drop and heat transfer correlations and to improve the wall temperature correction for the friction factor in laminar and transition flow regimes.
