Abstract:
The Fouling Characteristics of a Crude Oil describes the results of an extensive investigation of one sample of a desalted crude oil provided by Amoco Oil Company.
This report discusses three areas of investigation regarding the crude oil:
- Determination of the threshold surface temperature at which fouling will occur for a given fluid velocity
- Investigation of salt precipitation mechanisms in wet crude oil
- Determination of the effect of heater surface condition and material on fouling characteristics
