BX-17-TR Flow Boiling Testing with Double-enhanced Tube Bundle

Using pure p-xylene and mixtures of n-pentane/p-xylene as test fluids, HTRI conducted flow boiling tests across an ideal bundle with double-enhanced tubes provided by Neotiss, Inc. Boiling outside rolled-over fins significantly enhanced heat transfer for the pure fluid, but the effect was less pronounced for the mixture. This report summarizes the data trends, comparing them to those for HTRI flow boiling data across plain and low-finned tube bundles.
