BX-13 Comparison of HTRI and HTFS Crossflow Boiling Heat Transfer Methods

In a comparison of crossflow boiling methods, as implemented in Xist® 6.0 Service Pack 3 (SP3) and UniSim® Shell-Tube Exchanger Modeler (UniSim STE) R400, Xist calculates lower boiling coefficients at lower pressures and higher boiling coefficients at higher pressures than UniSim STE does. Overall, Xist predicts the data included in this study more accurately. A simpler two-mechanism boiling model could further improve HTRI predictions.
