BG1-15 Shellside Longitudinal Liquid-phase and Flow Boiling Heat Transfer for Vertical Plain Tube Bundles

This report discusses liquid-phase and flow boiling data collected on the shell side of a vertical, unbaffled bundle. Using these and other literature data, we evaluated heat transfer predictions from HTRI Xchanger Suite 7.2 and from improved methods not yet implemented in our software. The report also discusses types of characteristic diameters and identifies appropriate ones to use in all heat transfer calculations.
