Abstract:

The data and results obtained from the Induced Draft Mode of the HTRI Air-Cooler Model are compared with the data and results from the Forced Draft Mode. The choice between a forced and an induced draft air-cooled heat exchanger is discussed and advantages and drawbacks of these two configurations are described. Effects of the fan height, bundle height, intake air flow restrictions, plenum depth, air recirculation, fan rings, and fan guards are analyzed.
